St. Christopher is the protector of travel. In the sixties surfers wore the St. Christopher medal for protection. Guys and girls exchanged them as a sign of "going steady". Today, whatever the meaning, guys and girls, kids and adults are wearing them, and the legend of St. Christopher lives on.
